Elective Professional

In order to be categorised as an Elective Professional Client, you must: Complete an assessment of your expertise, experience and knowledge that gives Capital Plus Partners reasonable assurance, in light of the nature of the services we offer, that you are capable of making your own investment decisions and understanding the risks involved.
Satisfy at least two of the following criteria:
a) carried out transactions, in significant size, on the relevant market at an average frequency of 10 per quarter over the previous four quarters
b) the size of your financial instrument portfolio, defined as including cash deposits and financial instruments, exceeds €500,000
c) you work or have worked in the financial sector for at least one year in a professional position, which requires knowledge of the transactions or services envisaged
You must state in writing to Capital Plus Partners (separately and in addition to your application process) that you wish to be treated as a professional client in relation to the services we offer, understand the risks involved, understand the investor compensation rights you may lose as a result of being a Professional Client and understand the consequences of losing these protections

Per Se Professional

In order to be categorised as a per se Professional Client, you must be: An entity required to be authorised or regulated to operate in the financial markets. The following list includes all authorised entities carrying out the characteristic activities of the entities mentioned whether authorised in the UK or a third country and whether or not authorised by reference to a directive: 4 a) a credit institution b) an investment firm c) any other authorised or regulated financial institution d) an insurance company e) a collective investment scheme or the management company of such a scheme f) a pension fund or the management company of a pension fund g) a commodity or commodity derivatives dealer h) a local authority i) any other institutional investor A large undertaking (i.e. a body corporate or partnership; or an unincorporated association carrying on a trade or business, with or without a view to profit) meeting two of the following size requirements on a company basis: a) balance sheet total of €20,000,000 b. net turnover of €40,000,000 b) own funds of €2,000,000 A national or regional government, a public body that manages public debt, a central bank, an international or supranational institution (such as the World Bank, the IMF, the ECP, the EIB) or another similar international organisation. Another institutional investor whose main activity is to invest in financial instruments (in relation to the firm’s MiFID business or the equivalent business of a third country investment firm) or designated investments (in relation to the firm’s other business). This includes entities dedicated to the securitisation of assets or other financing transactions. Once we have received a completed copy of the Application Form, and specifically the Client Details, Service Type, Product Assessment and Investment Information sections, we will confirm that we are comfortable in categorising you as a Professional Client by opening your account, provided we have chosen to accept you as a client. As a Professional Client, you may at any time request reclassification as a Retail Client (or a High Net Worth Client or Sophisticated Investor categorisation if appropriate). If we were to agree to a reclassification from a Professional Client to a Retail Client, we would have to cease all activity on your account and immediately close your account. You agree to notify us immediately if you consider at any point that you no longer fall within the definition of a Professional Client. For the purposes of the FCA Rules, GIS shall (unless otherwise separately notified to you by GIS) adopt the same client classification in relation to you as that determined by us and rely on information provided to them by us as to that classification
